Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of manufacturing, property, plant and maintenance, logistics, and meat procurement. This leadership position requires a focus on compliance, continuous improvement, and workplace health and safety (WHS), ensuring operational excellence across all areas. As a vital member of the business leadership team, the Site Operations Manager will drive best practices, lead strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability and performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead and manage operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies, fostering a culture of high performance, and developing the operational team.
- Compliance & Safety: Oversee compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, focusing on continuous improvement in workplace health and safety (WHS), and promoting a safe working environment.
- Operational Performance: Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and performance. Maximize productivity while reducing costs and minimizing waste.
- Cost Management: Ensure effective cost control across manufacturing processes, including direct labor, materials, and equipment. Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and resource optimization.
- Strategic Direction: Provide strategic direction to ensure long-term growth, sustainability, and competitiveness. Develop and implement initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, increase efficiencies, and enhance product quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key stakeholders including the General Manager, senior leadership team, and cross-functional teams to ensure operational goals are met and continuously improved.
- Team Development: Cultivate and mentor a high-performing team, providing support, training, and development opportunities.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in manufacturing or operations management, ideally within a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of plant and equipment maintenance, logistics, and procurement operations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement best practices across various departments.
- Experience in managing budgets, cost control, and resource allocation.
- A solid understanding of workplace health and safety compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Engineering, Business Management, or similar) are desirable.
