About the role
We are seeking a suitable qualified HR/Payroll Manager for a permanent, full-time appointment to our Senior Leadership Team based at Ormeau.
The successful candidate will be a team player and foster a culture of ownership. They will also ensure all aspects of HR support, WH&S compliance are maintained, and that regulatory compliance is met, whilst driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and effectiveness of the function.
Top Cut are transitioning to a new payroll system in 2025. We are seeking an individual that has had previous experience with the successful transfer of data from one platform to the new program.
Responsibilities will include:
HR/WH&S
- Proven recruitment experience
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact & maintain effective relationships with employees at all levels
- Excellent problem-solving & critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide practical & pragmatic HR solutions
- Strong organisational & time management skills
- Well-developed written communication skills with experience preparing reports for senior management
- Sound knowledge of Government legislation impacting HR
- Strong ability to communicate articulately, both verbal & written
- You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to work autonomously & take full ownership of HR processes & recruitment functions
- A solid understanding of employment legislation
Payroll
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring compliance with legislation, agreements, and policies while maintaining accurate payroll data (salary, tax, deductions, superannuation).
- Perform regular quality control audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear communication and leveraging payroll data for decision-making.
The successful applicant will have:
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior Human Resources role that encompasses the payroll function
- Knowledge of payroll legislation, award interpretation and compliance along with the knowledge of payroll program transition
- Strong background in developing recruitment strategies, sourcing candidates & managing candidate pipelines
- Confidence, resilience and the ability to work in a fast paced demanding and diverse environment.
- The ability to travel to other sites annually to ensure compliance is being met.
